How to Use a TOTO WASHLET: Remote Control Guide
We often discuss the advanced luxury features of the TOTO WASHLET bidet seat. From adjustable heated seats and warm water cleansing wands to automatic open and close lids, self-cleaning technologies, and personalized comfort settings, the list seems neverending.
However, with so many available WASHLET bidet toilet seat features, it can be easy to use the same two or three primary functions while ignoring the rest.
Sure, you’re happy to own a heated seat bidet with warm water cleansing during the chilly months — but why not aim a little higher? After all, if you just wanted to tell the time, you’d have bought an analog clock — not a smartwatch.
Get to Know Your TOTO WASHLET Remote
The most important thing you can do to get the most out of your bidet seat is to learn the ins and outs of the device that controls it. TOTO designs our WASHLET remote control units to be intuitive. However, despite that, as with any new electronic, reading the manual is still the recommended first step after you’ve opened the box and recycled the packing materials.
But let’s be honest. How many of us read every word? We know we should, but we read just enough of the installation guide to get the product installed and enough of the usage manual to discover how to set up the features and functions we were most interested in when we purchased it. We tell ourselves we’ll figure out the rest later. Then, a year goes by, and our Alexa is still only a way of turning off the living room lights without getting off the couch. So, let’s skip the complex diagrams and make this simple.
TOTO Bidet Remote Guide
Below, we’ll provide an overview of how to navigate the remote controls used by some of our popular WASHLET models so you can be sure you are using every feature packed into your TOTO WASHLET bidet seat. We’ll also highlight key functions and where to locate them on your model’s remote control.

The “Energy Saver” section of your remote includes two square buttons. The top activates or deactivates the “Auto” energy-saving mode, which detects periods of low usage and automatically reduces the seat temperature, turning it off completely during times when it is not usually in use at all. The bottom allows you to set a six — or nine-hour “Timer,” giving you control over when the WASHLET C2 initiates its energy-saving technology.
WASHLET A2
The cleansing water pressure controls on the left side of the Side Control Panel on the WASHLET A2 remote are identified by the "-" and "+" symbols. These semi-raised buttons allow you to easily adjust the water pressure to match your preference. Press the "+" button to increase the water pressure for a stronger spray or the "-" button to decrease it for a gentler wash.
